Baby of Madhuri Vithal Patil was delivered extremely premature at 30 weeks via emergency Lower Segment Cesarean Section (LSCS) on 18/07/2026 in view of prolonged premature rupture of membranes (PV leaking > 18 hours).
Born with Very Low Birth Weight (1.4 kg), the newborn developed severe Respiratory Distress Syndrome (RDS) shortly after birth, displaying tachypnea, grunting, subcostal retractions (SCR), and intercostal retractions (ICR).
The infant was urgently transferred via specialized neonatal transport service to Shri Balchikitsalaya, Bhandup (W), Mumbai. Due to critical respiratory failure, the baby was intubated, administered pulmonary surfactant, and placed on non-invasive ventilatory (CPAP/NIV) support.
To combat probable sepsis resulting from prolonged membrane leakage, the baby is receiving intensive intravenous antibiotic therapy (Inj. Piptaz + Inj. Amikacin) and micro-trophic enteral feeds (1 cc every 3 hours) in the NICU.
The neonatologists estimate a required NICU stay of 5 to 6 weeks for respiratory stabilization, weight recovery, and infection management. The total estimated cost of treatment is ₹ 5,00,000 to ₹ 6,00,000.
The young family is under immense financial distress and urgently seeking assistance. Your generous support will help save this fragile newborn and give them a chance at survival.
